The public wireless network is named Kimball Public. There is no password, but you will be prompted to agree to the Library's WiFi policy.

Holiday Party with Illustrator Greg Crawford!

Saturday, December 6th, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. At 11 a.m., Stockbridge book illustrator and artist Greg Crawford will read his new children's picture book, The Flying Mouse. Written by Charlotte Otten, the story takes us on a journey, part real, part fantasy, into the world of fly fishing and a little mouse.

When Greg has finished telling the story, everyone is invited to make holiday crafts and eat holiday treats provided by the Friends of Kimball Library.

Chandler and Kimball present a Book-to-Film Series!

The Chandler Film Society and Kimball Public Library, cosponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council, are partnering to offer a Book-to-Film Series beginning this fall. The Chandler Film Society is showcasing eight remarkable movies that were inspired by or adapted from significant literary works.
Kimball Library will host scholar-led discussions on the eight books at the Library on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.

The next discussion will be on December 3rd; the book is Black Narcissus, by Rumer Godden. The discussion will be led by Ina Anderson.

Kimball Library has great news! We have made two improvements to our OneClickdigital service:
  1. The consortium we belong to now offers ebooks as well as downloadable audio.
  2. We have started adding titles that are available only to Kimball Library members.
If you already have an account with OneClickdigitial, you will need to re-register, in order to take advantage of the full range of offerings now available to you. But donít worry: itís easy! For help, click on this link.

New Online Resources available for free through Vermont Online Library:

Your password is the first 13 digits of your library card number. Use zeroes, not letter 'o's, and uppercase letters. Contact the Library if you don't know your number.

Universal Class

Universal Class: choose from over 500 online non-credit Continuing Education Courses!

Kimball Library now offers access to a new database entitled Universal Class, which gives library cardholders access to over 500 online courses.

Universal Class is offered at no cost to all Vermont Public Libraries by the Vermont Department of Libraries. All citizens of Vermont who have access to the services of a public library are eligible to use this online learning resource for free in the library or from remote sites. There is a link to this database on Kimball Libraryís website: www.KimballLibrary.org. You will need your library card number to access Universal Class.

Subjects include: Guitar Playing, Budgeting and Saving, Digital Photography, Babysitting 101, Algebra, History, American Government, Nutrition and many more!
