Chinese Culture, Customs and Calligraphy!
Monday, January 5th at 6:30 p.mJiali Yang is a visiting exchange teacher with the Asian Studies Outreach Program at UVM. She is in Randolph for a few weeks, visiting schools and teaching students about her culture. Ms. Yang is from the Yunnan province in China. She lives in Kunming City and teaches English at Yunnan Normal University, a teachers college. Jiali invites the Randolph community to a presentation at Kimball Library on Monday, January 5th at 6:30 p.m. She will show slides about traditional Chinese Festivals, then help participants make New Years’ lanterns and use brush and ink to write Chinese calligraphy.

Borrow a Book. Borrow the Pass.
Ask your librarian to borrow the Library ECHO Pass, and up to two adults and three youths will be admitted to ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, for just two dollars each.

Preschooler Storytimes
Wednesdays at 11:00 AM
(ages 2 1/2 to 5)
There will be NO STORYTIME on Wednesday, December 31st.
Toddlertime
Fridays at 10:30 AM (ages birth to 2)
There will be NO Toddlertime on Friday, January 2nd.
Beginning January 8th, 2009, Toddlertime will be on Thursdays.

The Vermont Library Association continues to lobby for direct state aid to Vermont's public libraries. (Vermont is one of only eight states that do not provide such support.)
