Vermont Humanities Scholar Jim Schley will lead a discussion of Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass and The Meaning of the 4th of July for the Negro.  Copies of both are available at the Library.  The Narrative can also be found online at gutenberg.org.  We are reading an abridged version of the 4th of July speech which can be found at: https://www.vermonthumanities.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Douglass5JulySpeechMedium.pdf   Cosponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council.
