Celebrate Arbor Day
Saturday May 8th 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm - virtualCelebrate Arbor Day with Prof. Barb Schaedler, who will give a presentation on Vermont's State Tree, the sugar maple, as well as some general advice on identifying, planting and caring for trees.
Prof. Schaedler is a Federated Garden Clubs certified lecturer and was the Chair of the Landscape and Design Management Department at Springfield (MA) Technical Community College.

Kimball Library will also be distributing activity packets in honor of Arbor Day! Anyone can pick up a packet which includes a sugar maple growing kit, tree identification information, book recommendations, and a list of fun activities. Packets are on the front porch.

Media Misinformation and Disinformation
Wednesday May 26th 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm - VirtualJoin us for a discussion about the spread of misinformation, disinformation and propaganda in American media and how it has come to shape our political discourse. Are Twitter and Facebook to blame for our deep political divisions? Or do they simply provide a modern and immediate platform for airing our existing political biases? How do media environments and journalistic standards on the left, center, center right and far right differ? And what difference does it make? How has Russia been able to shape our political discourse and attitudes? How did we get here and will this ever end? We will be discussing a new book called Network Propaganda, and a number of other resources listed here. Please join us for what we hope will be a lively discussion.
