This volunteer group meets only four times a year to choose ways to help the Library. Some of the Friends ongoing and past projects:
- New Baby Books – A new book is purchased to honor each child born to a Randolph or Braintree family. Each book is identified with a bookplate with the baby’s name. A letter is sent to the family with a brochure about sharing books with children and informing them of the title of their child’s book. This program encourages parents to make reading and visits to the library an important part of their child’s life.
- Child Care Book Bags – Volunteers deliver library books to participating home day-care providers every two weeks. Originally a Success by Six initiative, this program has been active since 1990.
- Children’s Summer Reading Program
- Furnishings for the youth department
- Dessert Night
- May Plant Sale
- Dahlia Swap
If you wish to support the Friends by becoming a member, please call the Library. We would like to sponsor more educational, interesting and fun events, but need people with ideas and energy to help us.
